What body type are you?

Ever thought that the way you look was down to your genetics? Many people do and use this as the reason to why they're shaped that way.

SOMOTYPES are the term we use to describe different body types.

There may be some truth in this but first you need to know some facts.

This is a theory, developed in the 1940s by American psychologist William Herbert Sheldon, associating body types with human temperament types.

Sheldon proposed that the human physique be classified according to the relative contribution of three fundamental elements, somatotypes, named after the three germ layers of embryonic development: the endoderm, (develops into the digestive tract), the mesoderm, (becomes muscle, heart and blood vessels), and the ectoderm (forms the skin and nervous system).

These body types are said to have specialised characteristics for each one.

VISUAL EXAMPLES OF THE BODY TYPES

Many people use these body types as excuses for their crappy body.

EXCUSES, EXCUSES!

Remember these body types are theoretical models and NOT actual REAL people.

The notation that you'll always be one body type is nonsense!

HOW YOU TRAIN AND EAT HAS MORE INFLUENCE ON YOUR BODY TYPE THAN WHAT YOU SEE ABOVE.

If you feel you in fit in to one of these body types you may have to work a little harder than another to gain the results you want. I've given some examples below.

Ectomorph training to gain muscle mass - Eat even more than you think you need. Train hard and recovery well

Mesomorph - What are you complaint for??? You have to best of everything. Sit there an gloat how great you are.

Endomorph trying to loose body fat - Good nutrition is the key. You have got to work as hard as you can ensuring calories are kept in check.

THE TAKE HOME POINT IS WHAT YOU CHOOSE TO DO WITH YOU LIFE, TRAINING AND NUTRITION IS REAL KEY TO CHANGING YOUR BODY SHAPE.
